When it comes to the gear bowhunters carry into the field, nothing is quite as important as your bow.  With each passing year, bow manufacturers work tirelessly to produce hunting bows that are more accurate, quieter, and more enjoyable to shoot while maintaining the speeds and specs that modern bowhunters demand.  

For 2024 we have a variety of new hunting bows that run the gamut from budget-friendly options to some of the most expensive hunting rigs to ever hit store shelves and everything in between.

So here is a look at the top new compound hunting bows for 2024.  Let us know which ones catch your eye and which you’ll be carrying to the woods on your next adventure.

All new for 2024, Mathews introduces the LIFT. With a newly designed Switch Weight-X Cam, shooters can change peak draw weights in 5-pound increments, from 55 lbs., up to 80 lbs. With this new cam system and redesigned RPD limbs, speeds can reach up to 348 FPS, and a new top axle system brings in the stability of target bows into the hunting bow lineup.

Also new in 2024 Mathews introduces their MATCH bow strings that come installed on every new LIFT bow. These strings are designed by Mathews to eliminate stretch and serving separation. Mathews has also introduced a few new color options this year as well as a “Fade to Black” series that makes for a very slick eye appealing bow.

Mathews offers the LIFT in both a 29.5″ axle to axle length and A 33″ axle to axle length. Retail on these bows is $1,329 of the 29.5″ and $1,429 for the 33″

Elite designed the 2024 Ethos to be the ultimate hunting bow, and it is their flagship aluminum model for this year.  With an emphasis on shootability and accuracy, the 33″ Ethos was designed to have the same string angle as a longer bow, providing additional stability while at full draw.  This is done through the use of larger cams and reduced limb flex. 

The 2024 Elite Ethos features Elite’s SP cam system that provides 1/4″ draw length adjustments from 25.5″ all the way up to 31″.  New for 2024 is the V3 performance mod system that ships standard on the Ethos, with smooth and 75% mods being available as well.

Designed with the serious female bowhunter in mind, the 2024 Elite Allure is Elite’s flagship women’s bow.  The Allure utilizes the SPX cam system which offers flexible peak draw weights of 40, 50 or 60 pounds and adjustable draw lengths from 23″ up to 28.5″.  Designed specifically to fit women and archers of smaller stature, the Allure reaches IBO speeds up to 340 fps thanks to a 6.25″ brace height.

New for 2024, the Bear Persist features of a variety of built-in features that help you build the ultimate hunting rig.  A new integrated picatinny rail makes mounting your sight easier than ever, and the Integrate Mounting System accepts popular QAD rests that utilize this streamlined mounting system.  The Persist also features an integrated wrist sling mount and built-in loops for quick connection of a pull-up rope when hunting from and elevated position.

To minimize noise and vibration the Persist features in-riser dampeners, KillerWave limb dampeners, and a unique string stop with built-in dampening.

The EKO cam system has 90% let-off and generates speeds of up to 340 fps.  Draw lengths range from 26 to 30 inches, and draw weights are available in 15 pound increments from 45-60 lbs or 55-70 lbs.

For 2024, Bowtech Releases a number of new bows including the Core SS.  With their CenterMass technology, you are able to align your sight to optimize unmatched stability and accuracy. Bringing a new standard for precision and balance.

The TimeLock feature allows you to adjust your cams without a bow press, just a simple Allen wrench. Giving the shooter the ability to make adjustments at home or in the field should they be needed.

Also the GripLock Technology allows the shooter to customize the grip position without having to buy several different styles, simply loosen the adjustment screw, adjust the grip and tighten it back down.

New for 2024 Hoyt introduces the latest model in the Carbon RX line of bows with the RX-8. The HBX Xact Cam system allows shooters to make draw length adjustments in 1/4″ increments allowing for a more perfect fit to the shooter. This cam system also features variations in letoff percentages, ranging from 75 to 85%.

Also new in 2024 are the WireWRX strings that included the V2 string silencers, reducing string vibration by 25% for a noticeable difference in the shooter’s hand.

The Carbon RX-8 clocks in with speeds of 342 feet per second, and can fit a wide range of shooters with draw lengths ranging from 25 – 30 inches. At 30 inches axel to axel the RX-8 is not the biggest hunting bow but also not the smallest. The RX-8 retails for $1,949.00.

The Alpha X 30 & 33 are Hoyt’s new aluminum riser bows for 2024. With two different axle-to-axle options along with the  HBX Xact Cam that has 1/4″ draw length adjustments shooters will be able to find a bow that fits them very well.

Hoyt has also featured the integrated drop cord slot, to minimize the chance of drop-away rest cords becoming hung up on brush while in the field. 

With 14 different color options, peak draw weights between 40 and 80 pounds, the Hoyt Alpha X is a very customizable bow for each individual shooter.

In 2024 Prime introduces the RVX line of bows. With stability in mind, there are three different models within the RVX line. A 32″, 34″ and 36″ axle-to-axle model is available. Every model includes the CORE Cam system with draw length-specific mods to maximize bow efficiency.

The Center Grip Riser also provides greater stability while aiming to get on target faster and longer hold at full draw. Speeds on these bows range from 332-340 fps and draw weights range from 40-80 lbs.

For 2024 the Engineers at PSE listened to their customers and answered the call for a 30″ axle-to-axle carbon riser bow. The Mach 30 comes in at a touch over 3.5 pounds, this bow is light in hand making it very comfortable to carry around the woods.

PSE and John Dudley of Nock on TV have brought another signature model to the game with the Nock 30 ES. Modeled after the 2024 Mach DS the Nock 30 features the EZ.220 tunning system so little time in the press is required to keep you in the field longer.

With its carbon riser the Nock 30 is warm to the touch during cold weather, as well as very light coming in at 3.6 pounds bare bow. With a wide ranch of poundage adjustments, the Nock 30 can be fit to hunt any of North America’s big game.
